Follow Me Friday

It's Follow Me Friday over at Parajunkee! The question this week is:

Q. How has your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?

Funnily enough, I read much more YA books now than I did when I was a teenager. For instance, Princess Diaries came out in 2000, so I would have been 15 at the time and I had no idea they existed until the movie came out and I then felt too old for that (bwuahaha!)Philippa Gregory and anything that had to do with the Tudors or Mary Queen of Scots or basically any royal family. I read a lot of non fiction books about history as well and was very into the classics.

These days I read way more YA than I did when I was a teen. In fact, I'd say the majority of what I read these days is YA. I also love paranormals, which isn't something I really liked much as a teen. Romance is another genre I've picked up reading as I became older.

(edit: I do not know what is up with this all being in caps!!!! For some reason it's showing up in caps, but that's not how I wrote it... O_O)

  2. Same here about the YA--when I was 16, I was too mature to read about a 15-year-old protagonist. Now that I'm 25, I see no probelms with it. :-)

  4. I love the paranormal romances too. YA is such a great genre, I feel like slapping myself for not taking up reading sooner.

  6. I definitely read more YA now than in Ye Olde Days, but...there's a lot more of it available now! If I'd had the same choice of genres back then, I'd have probably read YA when I was, well, YA. :)

  7. Hey!

    New follower =]

I didn't read as much YA as I do now. I went through a really strange VAMPIRE obsessed thing where i would only read books with a semi hot vampire in. Hm, i was a strange teen ;p
