Shade stopped very abruptly and Shift continues exactly where it left off. So, it's definitely a good idea to have this book handy as soon as you finish Shade! Just a tip!

Overall I really loved this book and felt it was just as good as the first. Perhaps some people may find themselves annoyed with Aura and her inability to get past her dead boyfriend in the form of a ghost, but in her shoes, I would have had the same difficulties. It would be horrible to have to look at him, know he's there, but know it won't last forever. It's too difficult to get closure and I can't fault her for having a difficult time moving on from him, despite her other love interests, which only seem to confuse her. Oh, yes. There almost becomes a love square in this book. It didn't bother me very much as I know it bothered others, mostly because I felt it was understandable. The third guy was an understandable choice. Weird and uncomfortable, yes, but I could see where she was coming from emotionally and it is quickly nipped in the bud.

Shift did have action that Shade did not, but I felt it still was largely focused on the triangle love theme between Aura, Logan and Zachary. There was a point of the book where I was really disgusted with Zachary and I almost felt as if Aura gave into him a little too quickly. The real action came later on in the book and we discover the answers to many questions that were raised in Book 1.

Overall, still a fabulous series so far. I can't wait until the next book comes out. 2012, come quicker!

  1. I really enjoyed Shade, but I'm a little nervous about this one...love triangles are pushing it for me at the best of times, and adding ANOTHER guy to the mix? Yikes. Not sure I can handle it...but I definitely want to know what happens to Aura, so I'll probably try.

    Good review!

  2. So glad you're enjoying this series, I just loved it! I agree the third member of the love square was understandable, but I was so glad not much came out of it, it would have been a little too much for me since I was already emotionally attached to Logan and Zachary:) Beautiful review!

  4. BJ: Well, I can say that the third guy was short lived, thankfully! Thank you! Definitely read it though, I don't think that lapse of judgement on Aura's part hurt the rest of the book too much. Thanks for the comment! :]

Jenny: I'm definitely glad nothing came out of that! Awkwaaaaard! But I got what she was looking for in it and thankfully she pulled her head out of the clouds as did he! Thank you for commenting! :)
