It's Friday: Weekly Recap, Follow Me Friday #5 and TGIF

Q. If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? Why and to what?

Tough question. I can't really think of any because normally no matter how the book ends I usually respect the authors closure.

I guess I might agree with Parajunkee on Breaking Dawn. I actually didn't finish the book, so I guess I can't talk a lot, but I read enough that I felt the last book wasn't what I wanted to continue reading. In all honesty, I only liked the first two books of that series. Breaking Dawn was just too over the top for me. --- Oh, and The Time Traveler's Wife! That ending was just cruel.

TGIF at GReads!

This Friday's Question:
Making a Difference: Which book(s) would you put in the hands of today's teenagers in hopes of making a difference in their lives?
Just As Long As We're Together by Judy Blume: I think this is a wonderful read for all pre-teen girls. It's full of friendship, trials, getting your period, crushes, first kisses and all the things girls go through. I found it to be a very comforting book when I was young.
Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling: I think this is going to be a popular choice, but it's true. This series is truly timeless and classic and is full of valuable lessons.
A Little Princess by
"Whatever comes," she said, "cannot alter one thing. If I am a princess in rags and tatters, I can be a princess inside. It would be easy to be a princess if I were dressed in cloth of gold, but it is a great deal more of a triumph to be one all the time when no one knows it."

"When you will not fly into a passion people know you are stronger than they are, because you are strong enough to hold in your rage, and they are not, and they say stupid things they wish they hadn't said afterward. There's nothing so strong as rage, except what makes you hold it in--that's stronger. It's a good thing not to answer your enemies."
"If nature has made you for a giver, your hands are born open, and so is your heart; and though there may be times when your hands are empty, your heart is always full, and you can give things out of that--warm things, kind things, sweet things--help and comfort and laughter--and sometimes gay, kind laughter is the best help of all."

  3. Hopping through. I usually respect author's ideas as well. I had lots of issues with Breaking Dawn though, like everyone else.

  4. I didn't read Breaking Dawn but I'm starting to catch a general theme to the answers...most people don't like it when authors tie everything up neatly.

@Anne Well, I think that series in general wasn't for me. I didn't feel a genuine connection with Bella and the last book was too strange! (:
