TGIF at GReads!
This Friday's Question:
Reading Challenges: Did you sign up for any this year? How has your progression been? No, I haven't this year. I plan on trying to read a certain amount of books in 2012 though. I am one of those girls who doesn't like pressure. If I feel pressure I'll usually run in the opposite direction. I know... it's horrible, but that's how I roll. I was proud that I managed to read 30 books in August. 30! Really! Being jobless has its benefits... let me tell ya!
It's Follow Me Friday over at Parajunkee! The question this
week is:
week is:
Q. Do you have a favorite series that you read over and over again? Tell us a bit about it and why you keep revisiting it?
Indeed, I have a few that I like to read again and again. One of those is The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot. I haven't read the series in a while now, because I came to the US and wasn't able to bring my books with me from Dubai (stupid weight limitations! love my kindle for that reason), but they are still sitting in our family house waiting for me and I've been wanting to re-read them again baaaadly! The Shade Series by Jeri Ready-Smith is another one of those. I think that is a series I'll read over and over again. In fact I've been wanting to start it over again recently. I love re-reading and finding little things I might have missed out on or re-living good scenes and getting that emotion going! The Harry Potter Series is another series I've read more than once and will continue to re-read in the future!
I can tell that Harry Potter is going to be a popular answer for the FF post. I reread that series constantly and it never gets old. Not many books can do that for me, but Harry Potter is just epically amazing.
ReplyDeleteI just started Shade by Jerri Ready-Smith tonight! I've only gotten through 30 pages, but I'm liking what I'm reading so far! Very interesting concept for a story.

That series is awesome. I really like it. I chose something different. Your follower button isn't working. Thanks for visiting my FF yesterday,
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter, whooo!
ReplyDeleteI can't follow you either. Could you leave a comment when it works again or tweet me or something? :)
Patricia
lol- I think I need to take your philosophy and not sign up for challenges anymore....:) I think they stress me out.....
ReplyDeleteI re-read HP, too! I still haven't read the final book yet, though. *shame*
ReplyDeleteAnd like you, I feel like reading challenges would be too much pressure! haha. With school and work, I'm never sure how much time I'll have to read each day, so I think I'd just get too stressed out if I gave myself deadlines or a quota.
Anyway, I love the layout of your site! Wanted to stop by and say thanks for the follow (I'm now following you as well, though that should go without saying I suppose)!
30 books in August?! That's incredible. I hate being such a slow reader. Maybe next year, you could try some of the easier challenges where there are different levels, like 10 paranormal books for the whole year or 15 fantasy, that type of thing...I've seen those around, so they're not all 'you have to read 100+ books' challenges. Then you won't feel so pressured. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. Issue a challenge and I rebel. I'm not doing so well at the two that I signed up for.
ReplyDeleteMy book that I read over and over again is also a Jeri Smith-Ready book but from her adult WVMP vampire series - Wicked Game. I lost count of how many times I've read that book.
We share HP.
ReplyDeleteTo find out which other books I return to and to follow me back (I’m following you now from Follow Friday) check out My Follow Friday post
I picked Twilight but I see HP come up a lot for this TGIF. Don't feel bad about not joining any challenges. I only joined my personal goodreads challenge and I'm behind on that.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday. Here's my Friday Post
Wow Liza!!! 30 books last month? That's seriously impressive:) I'm sorry your jobless, but I'm glad you have time to read so much, that's always nice:) Silver lining and all that!
ReplyDeleteNew Follower--Woohoo Harry Potter does rawk!

I've not read any of these series yet (I know!). But I do have tThe Shade series and HP on my TBR list. I'm hoping that when the weather turns cool I find myself a little more reading time to catch up!
