It's Friday: Weekly Recap, Follow Me Friday {#12} and TGIF

TGIF at GReads!
This Friday's Question:

Spooktacular Reads: Which books do you consider festive Halloween reads? Which stories have chilled you to the bone?

I don't read a lot of "scary" stories honestly. I guess I read a lot of paranormal books that could be considered scary, but I don't really feel frightened by the majority of them. I guess I'll go with my classic choice, which is actually the first book I ever checked out at a library! It actually caught my interest and I begged them to let me borrow it from the school library which didn't actually let kindergartners take books home... they finally let me though and I took it home and was totally freaked out after reading it. My favourite story inside was about the girl who wore the green ribbon are her neck....

It's Follow Me Friday over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read! The question this week is:

Q: If you could have dinner with your favorite book character, who would eat with and what would you serve?
Oooh, very good question. I guess I would invite Dimitri from Vampire Academy and make him lots of Russian food! And as a fellow Siberian, of course there'd definitely have to be pelmeni! Pictured below is some I made a while back to give you an idea! ;)

  3. Haha, that's a cute story about In A Dark, Dark Room. I don't read many scary books now, but when I was younger I would TOTALLY check out the creepiest ones I could find. I guess I enjoyed torturing myself. :P

    Have a great weekend!

  12. I'm not big on scary stories, either, but maybe that's just because it takes a lot to really scare me. LOL.

  14. Gaah. You're absolutely right; Dimitri would be the perfect dinner partner.
He wouldn't get any Siberian food from me though, because I'm a seriously bad cook.. We'd probably just end up ordering Chinese.
So cool you have read the VA-series! I've also read the Succubus-series from Richelle Mead, but not her last one. You wouldn't have happened to have read those, have you? What did you think of them?

  19. Liza! *laughing her head off* You are a superwoman! I wouldn't be able to make pelmeni even if my life depended on it, even for Dimka! I'm totally cheating, there is a Russian shop 2 mins away from me and I keep buying them almost on a weekly basis :))

  20. I don't read a lot of scary stories either, but I do love my PNRs. Never heard of that book before, but it looks like it would do a good job of scaring me. LOL :)

Can I go to your Russian dinner party? I haven't ever tried Russian food. Sounds delicious.

    Happy Friday, Liza.

  23. My dad's family is all Polish on his mother's side (one of her parents was 1st generation American and the other was 2nd generation American), and as soon as I saw that photo I thought instantly of pierogi. So of course I Googled pelmeni and found out the two foods are very similar.

    Great choice! :D
